Hey sweeties, as promised here is the tutorial on how to make Royal Icing Flowers and how I store them for future use. This is the most requested video from you 💐 I will be creating another video tutorial separately on how to create fondant flowers & bow, so stay tuned for that 😉👍

These royal icing flowers are very easy to make when you have left over icing, just thicken up your icing by adding more powdered sugar and you're good to go. Its a good idea to make a few to keep & store as they always come in handy to as little accent to decorate your cookies.

I have mentioned this in my video but I will clarify this again as they are the most common question that I get asked. Royal icing flowers will last for agesssss!! I keep mine for a few months and because they get used up regularly i can't tell you exactly how long, but they will keep for a long LONG time.

I also read from another baker's blog that they last indefinitely. However you have to make sure that they are completely dry before storing them. They don’t spoil but they must be stored in a cool, dry place, in an air-tight container. they may change colour or fade over time if you store them for a long time.

Container Box:
The container i used to keep all my royal icing flowers are craft boxes. I bought them from my local craft shop and it is very similar to this one:

Flower Nail Stand/Holder:
I make my own flower nail stand, which is just a square foam that i pierce on top to stick the flower nail on. You can make your own too if you have a square foam or a white Polystyrene, you can stick the nail on top to rest it.
