Controlling the racket head means controlling the squash ball. Specifically, being able to hit soft shots from your opponent's hard shots is a skill you can learn and develop. The drill in this video has three progressions from three locations on the court.

BTW, the whole video was recorded on my phone, except for the overhead view, which was recorded with a YI 4k action camera. I am quite impressed with the quality.
