Decided maybe I should share some stuff from the ARPG concept I've been working on for ~5 years now. This here is a 3d animated concept for an robot enemy (currently) named Scuttler.
Lore: This enemy type (while other variants of it may exist) is deployed to fridged regions, assigned to find a resource of high value. When intercepted by the player it may go onto the attack, spraying a jet of freezing or boiling water at high velocity. It also has a plethora of defensive capabilities, such as using it's jets to hover short distances, turning into a ball to hide or roll away, and it even may choose to bury/conceal itself in the snow.
The general concept, design, and animations were done ~3 years ago in Blender pre 2.8, but I recently gave them a bit of touch up in Eevee. Design/concept were inspired by various things, including the Portal cores, the Omnidroid from The Incredibles, tumble weed spiders, hermit crabs, and that irl Morphex robit.
