The POE adapter is required at the edge. Even the ultra Long Distance PoE Switch can send the data signal up to 800 meters far, the edge device such as an IP camera needs an adapter to send back the signal to the switch over such long distances. The bandwidth is 100 meters within 500 meters and it will downgrade to 10mbps after 500 meters.
