Why Miley is being sued for song-theft by Bruno Mars-linked company

Miley Cyrus is being sued by a company in connection with singer Bruno Mars over copyright infringement. Tempo Music Investments, a company with shares in Bruno Mars’ song ‘When I Was Your Man’ has filed a lawsuit against Miley Cyrus, claiming similarity between lyrics written by the pop-star and Mars’ 2012 radio hit.

In the documents, Tempo Music says the likeness of the songs “is undeniable based on the combination and number of similarities between the two recordings that Flowers would not exist without When I Was Your Man.”

While Tempo is taking action against Miley for the comparison, Bruno Mars is notably not a plaintiff in the lawsuit.
