Jeff KM6RGO discusses the Sierra Foothills ARC's recent ARRL Field Day event, held in June. As they say, "A good time was had by all", and (spoiler alert!) records were imperiled!
Field Day is a nation wide (and world participating) ham radio event, where clubs and individuals set up their amateur stations out in "the field" to simulate operations during a disaster of some sort. The stations gain points for every contact they make, with various incentives given for different bands, modes, and other event-related activities.
