Fishing with a light tackle is my favorite. This time, I tried to surf fish using a 7 feet super light rod. The lures I used were Rapala CD7 JRH, Jigpara Micro 10g, and Owner 1/8 oz Jig Head with Jackall RhythmWave.
7 feet super light rod could be too light. But when the condition is calm, no problem. It’s actually fun to fish with such light tackle.
Rapala CD7. The masterpiece of lure fishing history. I used to catch tons of Japanese Seabass using it in Tokyo bay. Redhead is my favorite color. It’s Japan Special paint (JDM). In this video, I started fishing with it. The classic lure still works fine!
Then fishing got slower. I changed the lure to Jigpara Micro 10g. One of Rapala’s problems is its castability. No way to have a long distance. But jig can make a long cast. I cast it away and caught Queenfish!
After a while, fishing got way slower. Okay. It’s time to slow down, I changed the lure to jig head rig. 1/8oz jig head and Jackall Rhythm Wave. It also worked! Small baby but California Halibut!
Three lures. Three species. No big fish but it was a good day! Let's check out!
