NEWPORT, RHODE ISLAND - A chaotic incident unfolded at The Landing restaurant in Rhode Island during a wedding party, resulting in the arrest of six individuals. Police responded to a disorderly party call, with David Onik, 44, allegedly attempting to assault an employee when denied entry.
As police questioned Onik, a scuffle broke out, leading to the arrest of his wife, Rachael Onik, 41. During the arrest, Alexandra Flaherty, 31, kicked an officer in the groin, prompting a response.
Robert Nash, 30, also struck an officer during the brawl. One of the suspects even tried to grab an officer's gun, accidentally hitting Rachael's jaw.
Both Rachael and Officer Carrig were briefly hospitalized but have been released. The individuals involved, including Nash, Flaherty, Rachael, and Olivia Costello, 20, face charges ranging from assault to resisting arrest. Onik was charged with disorderly conduct, while Kylie Swain, 28, faces charges of assault and disorderly conduct.
All individuals except Swain are scheduled for an arraignment hearing on Wednesday. The reports did not specify the relationship between the arrested individuals and the wedding party, or whether the brawl disrupted the celebrations.
