In any case, in this video, I'll walk you through the 5 attractions that, in my opinion, are unique to our town, synonymous with Oklahoma City, and guaranteed to give you a real feel for the history of this place (no zoos or theme parks allowed - too mainstream). What's there to do in Oklahoma City? In my opinion, here's a short list of interesting options that are essential for the ultimate Oklahoma City experience...
NATIONAL COWBOY HALL OF FAME AND MUSEUM
Kicking off the list, if you're into the Old West, this is the place for you. Named the top Western museum by True West Magazine, you can spend the day among priceless works of Western art, an extensive collection of antique firearms, and rare and unusual Native American and Pioneer artifacts. Heck, they have an entire hall just dedicated to wagons!. This is one place you DO NOT want to miss.
STOCKYARDS CITY / CATTLEMEN'S STEAKHOUSE
Step back in time in Stockyards City, the largest feeder cattle market in the world, where you'll get the true Cowboy experience. While in town, get outfitted in the latest Western wear, including a new cowboy hat, boots, and jeans, and then mosey on over to Cattlemen's Steakhouse, OKC's oldest restaurant, and chow down on your favorite cut of meat. Ask about trying their Lamb Fries...I dare you...
OKLAHOMA CITY NATIONAL MEMORIAL AND MUSUEM
Dedicated to preserving the memory of all 168 (including 19 kids) that lost their lives in the April 19th 1995 bombing of the Alfred P Murrah Federal Building, it's a moving tribute to all that died--and survived--this horrific tragedy.
BRICKTOWN
Adjacent to downtown Oklahoma City's, check out this revitalized warehouse district filled with restaurants, nightlife, and family-friendly activities. Take a water taxi ride on the Bricktown Canal to get a real feel for the place and all that it has to offer.
DEVON ENERGY TOWER / VAST RESTAURANT
At over 50 stories tall, the Devon Energy Tower is the tallest building in the state and is home to VAST Restaurant on the top floor. VAST offers spectacular views of the OKC metroplex (going at night is extra special) not to mention offering one of the finest dining experiences in the Oklahoma City area. This is an experience not to be missed.
