The U.S. is one of the few nations where more mothers are dying now than a generation ago. The Maternal CARE Act acknowledges the fact of implicit bias and seeks to address it by requiring medical schools and nursing school teach soon-to-be professionals about bias. With this bill Kamala Harris hopes to better outcomes for all women but Black women specifically.
