The Valley Children’s Pediatric Residency Program, Affiliated with Stanford University School of Medicine, is an innovative, interprofessional program that provides a comprehensive education including both general and advanced clinical pediatric training.
Throughout training, residents will gain important clinical experience in a hands-on environment. Residents rotate through our main teaching hospital – the 358-bed, state-of-the-art Valley Children’s Hospital – and the internationally renowned Lucile Salter Packard Children’s Hospital at Stanford. Both facilities have a large multicultural patient population.
Valley Children’s boasts the Central Valley's only Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit – and offers specialized medical and surgical services to treat conditions ranging from common to the most unusual and complex. U.S. News & World Report ranks Valley Children’s as one of the best children’s hospitals in the country in orthopaedics, gastroenterology and GI surgery and diabetes and endocrinology. Valley Children’s Hospital is also designated as a Level II Pediatric Trauma Center, the only Pediatric Trauma Center in Central California.
