For years, astronomers have been scratching their heads over the mystery of unexplained bursts of radiation coming from space. Some of these spikes occur on a yearly basis. 1988 saw the detection of a transitory signal in the Scutum constellation, located 15,000 light-years away, by radio telescopes. However, it went unreported for thirty years. Now, fast-forward to the present day. The object has been rediscovered by astronomers, but it behaves differently than any other object that has been studied before. This new piece of evidence sheds light on the possible origins of the most outlandish signals we can possibly get.
