Sulaimani Tea or Sulaimani Chay is an easy and quick tea that is brewed with flavourful spices and tea leaves. There is no milk added in this recipe, just some cloves, green cardamom, cinnamon stick, ginger, tea leaves and a dash of lemon juice.
Ingredients:
Water 2 cups / 300 ml
Cloves 2 pcs
Green cardamom 2 pcs
Cinnamon stick ½ inch
Ginger ½ inch
Sugar 2 tsp
Tea leaves ½ tsp
Lemon ½ of a lemon
Preparation
In a saucepan add 2 cups/300 ml of water.
In a mortar and pestle crush cloves, green cardamom and cinnamon stick and add them into the water.
Now crush the ginger and add it to the water.
When the water starts to boil, add sugar and turn the heat to low-medium. Boil for 1 and ½ minutes.
Now add ½ tsp of tea leaves and allow it to boil on low-medium heat for 1 minute.
Cut a lemon into halves, squeeze the lemon into the cups.
Strain the tea into the cups and Sulaimani tea is ready to serve.
