Here's the next episode of Chordplay with The Chords Of Dire Straits. As I mention in the video, I did create a Mark Knopfler Three-For-All lesson earlier this year and since that time I've had lots of requests to feature more of his music/ideas, so I figured it was time to take a look at some of his slick chord-work and sections of music.

This lesson centers around several songs from Dire Straits first two albums, the 1978 self-titled debut and the album Communiqué, which was released the following year. This is back when Mark and David Knopfler were still working together and their interesting two-guitar chords and interplay was something I always found interesting and inspiring, so I've attempted to recreate and feature some of that in this lesson.

The songs and chord-based ideas in this lesson include plenty of deep-cuts and lesser-known "fan favorites" from the band, which include tracks such as 'Lions,' 'Southbound Again,' 'Where Do You Think You're Going?,' 'In The Gallery,' not to mention a section from the classic rock staple 'Sultans Of Swing,' and more!

There's plenty hiding in this episode, including plenty of fingerstyle picking/plucking/playing - which is Mark's preferred performance technique, a little bit about using compression with a clean sound to get closer to Knopfler's signature tone, and so much more!
