Using eyeshadow sticks as eyeliners is possible and I will demonstrate two simple techniques about how to properly achieve a soft and more dramatic eye makeup look.
Tools you will need:
- Matte or shimmer eyeshadow stick
- Smudging eyeshadow brush
- Eyeliner brush/angled eyeliner brush
- Concealer
- Concealer brush or a small eyeshadow brush
Technique 1: Soft & Smudged Eyeliner
If you want to achieve a soft & smudge eyeliner look using an eyeshadow stick, all you need is an eyeshadow stick of the color you prefer and a smudging eyeshadow brush.
Use the eyeshadow stick very closely along your upper lash line, applying it from the inner to the outer corner.
Then, use your smudging brush, which can be flat or round and pointed, and smudge over the eyeshadow cream until you do not see a harsh line anymore, but a soft gradient.
You can wing the outer corner using the smudging brush to extend the color. Then, use a bit of concealer on a smaller brush to sharpen the bottom part of the wing and keep the top smudged.
Add a bit of mascara to your lashes and you’re done!
Technique 2: Dramatic Eyeliner
Some eyeshadow sticks have a wider tip which makes it a bit trickier to achieve a thin and sharp line; that’s why, using an eyeliner brush/angled brush can help you to get the job done.
Take off a bit of eyeshadow cream from the eyeshadow stick onto the eyeliner brush and then, follow it along your upper lashes from the inner to the outer corner and if you like to, add a wing too.
Add a bit of mascara to your lashes to finish the look and that’s it!
