Genesis 9:18-29. Typically, the days following a catastrophe tend to be filled with introspection and spiritual contemplation. Like the season of Lent, which we are currently in, there is often a sense of reflection, penitence, and repentance.
Noah was 600 years old when the flood came and he entered the ark, and he lived to be 950 years. In other words, he lived the last third of his life in the post-flood, new world, which he and his family had the opportunity to influence. Noah and his sons did an amazing thing, building that ark for 120 years and preaching repentance toward God. Yet, for all the good they did, they could not escape the fallen, sinful nature of man, even in a brand-new world. But before we get too judgmental, remember this:
[1Corinthians 10:12-13] 12 Therefore let him who thinks he stands take heed lest he fall.
13 No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.
