Buoyed up by the news that international mediators had upheld opposition local election victories over Serbian President Slobodan Milosevic, some 60,000 opposition supporters defied heavily armed riot police to rally in central Belgrade on Friday (27/12).
OSCE envoy Felipe Gonzalez said on Friday that opponents of President Slobodan Milosevic won municipal elections.
