Today I am demonstrating how to tie-dye a wig-wag variant t-shirt using the H.W.I (hot water irrigation) method. This method only takes about one hour from start to finish making it a favorite method among tie-dyers. In this video I cover the entire process beginning with the folding, drawing, and rubber banding of the t-shirt. After that I then move on to strategically applying the procion dye powders to create the wig wag variant design. For the next step I use a spray bottle to apply a light mist to the shirt to help bind the dye to the shirt without it blowing all over the place, and then pull out the garden pump sprayer filled with hot water that has been heated to 165 degrees to finish bonding the dye powder with the fabric. For the last step I let the shirt sit for about 10-15 minutes, give it a good rinse, and then jump right into the reveal of our new tie dye hwi wig-wag variant (rustic vibes) t-shirt.
