Today is the hottest day on record in the history of Las Vegas. We expected to hit a high of 118, shattering the previous record of 117. We did not necessarily anticipate a new record of 120 degrees. Only slightly outdone by Death Valley, CA this extreme summer heat wave is potentially dangerous and shouldn’t be dismissed as normal or typical. Yes, Vegas is always hot in the summer, and our weather is unpredictable, but it’s easy to underestimate this kind of heat with no humidity because you may not feel hotter than usual. Usually by now monsoon season has cooled us off with a flood or two. 2024 is shaping up differently. Stay hydrated, stay indoors and if you have the means, take a nap until mid October. #vegas #lasvegas #vegasstarfish #vegassummer #vegasheat #vegasweather #vegaslocal #vegasexperience #whattodoinvegas #wheretogoinvegas #vegasnews #vegasheatwave #climatechange #globalwarming #weatherchannel #weatherchanges #hotsummer #heatstroke #vegaslocals #creatorsearchinsights
