Beer and Germany belong together, and Berlin has created a great Oktoberfest held annually at Zentral Festplatz am Kurt-Schumacher-Damm near Tegel Airport.
It can not be compared with the one in Munich, but still fun to join if you are in Berlin in early October or late September.
Roundabouts, food and fortune
Around the place there are plenty of stalls with food, rides and assorted pinwheel. If you’re lucky, you get to wear on a naturally big giraffe rest of the evening, so be careful.Party tent
The tent is 1600 square meters and it gets pretty busy when it becomes full. The party is the longest at midnight at the weekend and an hour earlier on weekdays. The entrance fee also varies.
Not a lot of people in the tent on the weekdays. So if you want to see the big party, it’s best to come on Fridays and Saturdays.
Keep track of when the last bus back if you plan to be there whole evening, otherwise it’s a taxi that apply.
OKTOBERFEST AT ALEXANDERPLATZ
It usually is an Oktoberfest beer garden cottage and “Biergarten” at Alexanderplatz. A good option if you don’t want to go so far from center.
