Hallelujah! HolyLand Arts proudly presents our first production: Fredrick Handel's Messiah recorded live in the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem under the direction of Maestro Francisco de Araujo. This remarkable one-of-a-kind musical event brought together dignitaries from all sides of the Middle East peace process. We can think of no better time than the dawn of the new Millennium to bring this heartfelt and extraordinary celebration to you.
In 1994 with the church surrounded by tanks, a concert for peace was performed in St. Catherine's chapel marking the spot where Christ was born. It was the first, and remains the only, television program ever recorded in this Holy shrine.
At the conclusion of this remarkable event, the Israeli Military Governor of the West Bank rushed the stage to embrace Maestro Araujo. His tanks withdrawn and his Uzi put aside he exclaimed, "...In one single night you have brought together, in this holy place, Jews, Christians, Moslems, Palestinians, and Israelis all praising one God as they stood during the Hallelujah chorus. The influence if this night will long be felt here."
Come Celebrate with us in the place where Jesus Christ was born.
