This is my video for educational purposes for 05-07 legacy and outback xt owners with automatics who are interested in retrofitting shifter paddles on their column.

Perform modifications to your vehicle at your own risk

Remember to disconnect your battery before performing any electrical work or when working with the airbags. Subaru recommends waiting 20 minutes before disconnecting an airbag to mitigate any risk of detonation.

Parts I used
- 2008-2009 legacy steering column with firewall bushing
- 2008-2009 legacy roll connector and combo switch plate (white plastic bracket behind roll connector)
- (3) 1ft lengths of 18-20 awg stranded wire
- Paddle shifters
- paddle shifter column covers
- 2008-2009 kick panel
- 2008-2009 dash beam
- solder/ solder seals
-2008-2009 turn signal combo switch (05-07 auto cancel trigger is too short to reach the back of the 2008-2009 roll connector and, therefore, won’t auto cancel)
- 2013 sti steering wheel.

B68 pins correlated with shifting are pins 2, 7 & 8. Pin 8 is the ground wire.

Trimming of the dash just above the column is recommended for best column cover fit. I trimmed the U-shaped thin piece of plastic just under the gauge cluster.

Trimming is required in a few spots on the right side of the dash and console side panel to get the kick panel to clip into the adjacent panels. It’s very minimal.
