Right during the week that we want to go to Arlon, the capital of Belgian Luxembourg, they are doing maintenance on the train tracks. As a result, we will need to travel 5 hours to reach our destination. Will it be worth it?
Arlon is in the South of Belgium, near the country of Luxembourg. It's the smallest province capital of Belgium. 5 hours of traveling on buses and trains seems like a lot for such a small city. But we do not want to pass on such an adventure either. Besides, it would be sad to give up on only 1 of the 12 provincial capitals of Belgium.
The history of Arlon is quite interesting. At first, the city was part of the Duchy of Luxembourg. But at the independence of Belgium in 1830, Arlon became part of French Belgium and the country of Luxembourg was formed right next to it.
