Dual subwoofers are vital in my opinion, but what about 4 subs? This was my experience... Vv Click "SHOW MORE" vV
Thanks to viewer Devon Arevalos for asking this question!
Everyone knows I love the PB-2000's, for the money they deliver unusually deep, well composed bass.
As the price goes up, some people may look at the specs and curves and not see much difference, and I understand that perception. The difference in wattage is obvious, but what that MEANS to the listener isn't exactly clear to the uninitiated.
While the PB-2000 and PB-4000 may have similar response curves, and the driver is only 1.5 inches bigger (12 vs 13.5), the difference in the impact, even at the same relative volume, is undeniable to me.
The realism delivered by the PB-4000's is breathtaking, and those new to the experience are often startled.
People expect LOUD, but the "DEPTH" is the most shocking part. Add to that sensation, the lack of ear fatigue (because you don't NEED to blast it), and it's almost always a new experience!
Increasing your budget within the SVS line means increasing realism. Dual subwoofers are a MAJOR factor in that realism.
Splitting your budget, or at least keeping a very short time frame between adding the second sub, really does make a world of difference.
4 subs sounds even better, it's a smoother presentation, but I would still prioritize wattage within the SVS line. The impact and potency delivered from higher wattage subs didn't seem to be evident with 4 lower wattage subs.
Here's a breakdown of how I would budget for subwoofers at various price points. I'm including my affiliate links, and I really appreciate you following them before placing an order, it keeps this channel alive:
$500-1,000 budget? Dual PB-1000's. Yes, the PB-2000 goes deeper, has more power, etc..., but a single won't have the realism that dual PB-1000's provide. This was a major realization on this channel, and I think it's really important. [ Ссылка ]
$1,500-2,000 budget? Dual PB-2000's. Yes, the PB-4000 is INSANELY good, but duals will give you a more complete and fuller sound. I'm not guessing here, I preferred dual PB-2000's over a **SINGLE** PB-16 Ultra!
Duals vs duals, it's no contest, the PB-4000's or 16 Ultra will dominate the PB-2000's, but 2 vs 1 within the ported SVS line, duals win. [ Ссылка ]
$2,000-3,000 budget? Dual PB-12 Plus. [ Ссылка ]
$4,000 budget? Dual PB-4000's, outstanding output and realism, second only to PB-16 Ultras. [ Ссылка ]
$5,000 budget? Dual PB-16 Ultras, seriously the best bass I've heard to date! [ Ссылка ]
Taking advantage of the 1-year trade up to upgrade is something you can do if you go factory direct. I'd rather have duals now than 6-12 months with a single.

LG 4K 3D that I replaced previous Vizio with a Square Trade type warranty. Love the LG, some issues aside. Going through Amazon means you can get a decently priced 5 year warranty (strongly recommend for TV's and AVR's)
