The practice of concentration or absorption meditation (Samadhi, Samatha Bhavana) is a Buddhist meditation technique to train and strengthen the ability to rest the mind into a single point. It strengthens
1 The ability to direct your mind at will (Vitakka)
2 The ability to hold your mind on its object without distraction (Vicara)
3 Happiness (Piti)
4 Bliss (Sukha)
5 Single-pointedness (Ekagatta)
6 Mindfulness (Sati)
7 Absorption (Jhana)
8 Equanimity (Upekkha)
This technique helps particularly well with:
- ADHD
- Anxiety, Nervousness
- Lack of mental strength and focus
The technique is presented the way it is practiced at the Dharana Meditation and Retreat Center in Phuket/Thailand. It's supposed to help you with your practice when you are back home again.
