The Canadian Police & Peace Officer's Memorial is usually held on Parliament Hill in Ottawa in September. Police pipe bands from across the area participate, as do police officers and peace officers from both Canada and the U.S. The Memorial did not take place during the Covid restrictions, so the event in 2022 was very special as the first time in years we could assemble to honour the fallen.
The 2022 Canadian Police & Peace Officer's Memorial concluded on 25 Sep with the stirring march past of the massed police pipes and drums. Always named as a highlight of the service by the families of the fallen, this video was taken by RCMP A/Commr Joe Oliver (ret), whose step son Cst Adrian Oliver was killed on duty in 2012. The salute to the headdress of the fallen was led by our RCMP Pipe Band's Sr Drum Major that day.
