The South Lawson Waterfall Loop is possibly one of the Blue Mountains most popular waterfall walking tracks, it is reasonably short, can be done in almost any weather, is kid and dog friendly as it is not in the National Park, but a council reserve.
Located at Lawson in the Blue Mountains, it makes for a very easy bushwalk with a reasonably good quality track. It can get muddy in places, particularly after rain, so, wear shoes you expect to get dirty.
This walk takes in 5 waterfalls which are just spectacular when running well. The falls you will visit on this easy loop are Adelina Falls, The twin waterfalls of Junction Falls, Federal Falls and Cataract Falls. (There is another, but those are off track and hidden away)
At a moderate pace, it should take no more than 2 hours to complete and is suitable for most fitness levels, yes, there are stairs, but what good walk does not have stairs?
There are two car parks, the north and south, we started our loop from the north car park. In summer on weekends, you will be very lucky to get a parking spot anywhere near here. On a cold, rainy autumn Sunday, we almost had the walk to ourselves.
