Title: Mast Cell Activation Syndrome

Biosketch of Matthieu Picard, MD, FRCPC:
Dr Picard earned his medical degree from Université de Montréal in 2007 and then completed an internal medicine residency and clinical immunolgy and allergy fellowship at Université de Montréal.
From 2012 to 2014, he did a research fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital (BWH) in Boston focusing on hypersensitivity reactions to chemotherapy and an in vitro model of mast cell desensitization. He also acquired clinical skills in the management of patients with systemic mastocytosis and mast cell activation syndrome at the BWH mastocytosis center.
He practices at Hôpital Maisonneuve-Rosemont since 2014 where he founded the Division of Allergy and Clinical Immunology.
His main research interest is in drug allergy and he has published several original and review articles on the subject.
Through a collaboration with the hematology division at HMR, his clinic has become a referral center for patients with mastocytosis and mast cell activation syndrome.
