With the support of key sponsors, including Robins & Morton, Dr. Charlie and Jeanne Morgan, INTEGRIS Health Volunteer Auxiliaries, and other dedicated sponsors, the INTEGRIS Health Foundation hosted its first ever virtual gala on Friday, Sept. 17.
The event, originally planned for May 2020 and postponed two times due to COVID-19, was scheduled to be held in-person last Friday at Omni Oklahoma City Hotel. However, due to the remerging concern of COVID-19, the team made the difficult but necessary decision to pivot the event to a virtual format with a few weeks' notice. More than 350 people participated in the event from all over the country, supporting key projects throughout the Neuroscience Institute.
Neurological disorders have become increasingly common in recent years with stroke becoming a leading cause of death; every 40 seconds someone in the United States experiences a stroke and someone dies every 4 minutes of a stroke.
The evening’s Passion Challenge highlighted patients who have received care from the INTEGRIS Health Neuroscience Institute for an array of neurological disorders including stroke, Guillain-Barré, cerebral aneurysms and more.
In all, the virtual gala raised more than $440,000 that will benefit patients of the INTEGRIS Health Neuroscience Institute.
“We are so thankful to all of our donors who supported this unusual gala,” said Skip Leonard, the vice president of the INTEGRIS Health Foundation. “It was very successful thanks to our generous sponsors, donors and tireless staff and volunteers. Thank you to all for making this a very successful event.”
