In this video I use the Sony 50mm f1.2 GM lens for the first time on a natural light portrait shoot.
I bought the Sony 50mm f1.2 GM because I love taking photographs at very wide apertures and creating foreground and background bokeh. This is the widest lens I own - but how does it compare to the Sony 35mm f1.8 and the Sony 85mm f1.8 lenses?
As always, this video shows me taking a variety of photographs and I show you the RAW files as well as the final edited images.
My first impressions of this lens are very good, the bokeh looks great and as you would expect from a G Master lens, the autofocus is very very fast. It is a bit on the large and heavy side when compared to my smaller 35mm and 85mm f1.8 lenses, but this is f1.2, which I love. This lens will obviously excel in dark environments too when light is limited.
