Did you know we also have phrasal adjectives and nouns? They are very similar to the verb form, but with a few differences.
In the adjective form we use the past participle. I've chosen phrasal verbs with 'stick' for this video. No reason why. But for the adjective form we use 'stuck.'
'stick to/with' = continue, never quit
Phrasal verbs are difficult but you should stick with it!
'stick up for' = defend yourself or a friend in a fight or argument
The nasty player started a fight with the small boy, but his teammates stuck up for him!
'stick out' = to be obviously different from everyone else
That tall man really sticks out in the crowd. He's over 2 meters tall!
'stuck on' = unwilling or unable to do something different or think about something new
JJ is still stuck on phrasal verbs and doesn't want to teach anything else.
or - I'm stuck on you = I love you!
'stuck-up' = a person who expects high-quality products or services like fast cars or expensive restaurants. Accepts nothing less!
Donald Trump's wife is really stuck-up, everything she wears is expensive.
Note: the phrasal nouns I used in the video, an add-on and a run-on were actually being used as adjectives. The same form can be both a noun and adjective. Here are examples.
Sometimes when you are shopping online the site will ask you about an add-on!
That sentence was too long! It was totally a run-on!
