Had great fun transcribing Eric Clapton's second solo from Cream's version of Crossroads (Live at the Fillmore 1968).
A radical reworking of the original song (written by Robert Johnson), Clapton's lead work on this track is viewed by many as some of his best playing.
Apparently Clapton finds this quite funny as he admits to emphasising the wrong beats throughout the solo: "Most of that solo is on the wrong beat. Instead of playing on the two and the four, I'm playing on the one and the three ... No wonder people think it's so good - because it's fucking wrong."
Wrong beats or not, I think it sounds great! Let me know what you think in the comments.
