Did you know that we have 28 different lighthouses in Lake Havasu? From the North end to the South end there are replicas of famous lighthouses from all over the United States and North America!

We went along with the volunteers from the Lake Havasu Lighthouse Club, the Marine Association and Arizona State Parks to replace the Portland Head Lighthouse, this one of the most difficult locations to reach up on top of Pilot Rock.

Not only are these lighthouses cool to see and find while you're out on the lake, they're primary role is to make sure that boaters can safely navigate the waterways both day and night with their colorful designs and bright beacon lights.

The very first lighthouse is the Lake Havasu Marina Lighthouse built in 2000. This was the starting point. From there, the project began with a group of local citizens who wanted to improve the navigational lights on Lake Havasu.

There is a constant need to keep up on the maintenance of the lighthouses and repair them from vandalism. This organization is a non-profit group that has membership, events and a great booklet that you can get at the Lake Havasu Visitors Center or the Lake Havasu Museum of History showing you where all the lighthouses are and the story behind what lighthouse was replicated.
