Hey everybody! Do you know the difference between a walleye a saugeye and a sauger? Check out this video.
A friend and I caught each one to keep and eat. They might look a little different but they all taste good. We really couldn't tell the difference when eating them. So good.
Sauger - blotchy markings and tell tale spots on the dorsal fin, and no white tip on the tail.
Saugeye - looks like a dirty walleye, not blotchy but has spots on the dorsal fin and maybe a little sliver of white on the tail's tip.
Walleye - smooth color complexion from light gold to almost black in dark stained waters. No spots on the dorsal fin. If there are spots on the fin then it's not a walleye. Plus the tell tale white tip on the bottom of the tail.
Let's go fishing! I enjoy guiding on the waters of the Lake Winnebago system which include the Fox River, the Wolf River, and of course Lake Winnebago. Plus I have a lake I enjoying guiding on in Northwest Ontario, Canada, eh.
