Did you catch this in Nope? He tells the audience during Jupe's Star Lasso Experience that he has been aware of Jean Jacket's existence for a considerable amount of time. He intends to put on a show for his audience while standing next to Lucky, who is confined in a glass box. He will sell alien merchandise and dress up his kids in alien costumes for an event where Lucky will be eaten by Jean Jacket. It becomes clear right away why Jupe has been reluctant to sell OJ's horses: he has been using them as bait to entice Jean Jacket. In addition, Jupe's red, embroidered jacket foreshadows everything else. As he turns, the back of his jacket reveals an embroidered design that matches Jean Jacket's final appearance after the object spent the most of the film appearing as a flying saucer.
