'Nitakukatakata na nikuweke kwa fridge!' Those words still ring in my mind. They were from a man who once loved me and married me. But as time went by, our marriage became a source of indescribable pain. He would beat me on daily basis. I persevered for 12 years. But the day he said those words, it hit differently..my then 10 year son was so depressed that he was admitted in hospital. One day I watched him as the doctors tried to inject him. I knew if I didn't leave that marriage, I was soon going to be dead, killed, another statistic. After my son was discharged, I packed and left. Its now over six years and i will never look back!
