This video is united, first part with Chiboni is Ajarian and second Gurian by Giorgi Salukvadze, Georgian dance Khorumi was historically formed in the southwestern part of Georgia and northeastern part of Turkey black sea region, which was historical South-Caucasian land inhabited by Kartvelian tribes, even beyond Trabzon, part of which was landed by Pontic Greeks from the time of Argonauts, who lived alongside Kartvelian tribes for a long period of time... probably mixed with some of them in Trabzon and more western areas... maybe eastern parts have slight Greek Byzantine influence as well, as everything is formed by mixing in nature, but it is pure South Caucasian culture and belongs to this region... cannot find it anywhere else... unless some1 copies it, but copycats can easily be detected, as we can show older videos... naturally it cannot be exactly same with Georgian mountain style as nature creates everything, but shares common South-Caucasian Kartvelian character...
Historically Khorumi was mainly danced by Pontic Greeks, Georgian Meskhetians from Tao KLarjeti, Laz, Acharians, and Gurians... despite similarities, there are huge differences, everyone in the region had their own improvisation... Pontian culture is totally different from Georgian in polyphony, dance moves, etc... It is up to them if they consider it South-Caucasian or not... also it is up to Laz what they think about theirs, as far as I know, they distinguish their culture from Pontians as well... I am talking about the part in Georgian borders how we feel about it... some old rhythms and variations are pure Gurian...
