Disclosure: Mekotronics has sent me the R58 for free
I have good contact with Mekotronics after I bought the R58X.
They sent me updates and the Debian image.
I sent in bug reports and suggestions.
They have sent the R58 with 8GB memory and 64GB storage for free in exchange for a review.
The R58 is more aimed at the casual consumer, as it comes with a remote and IR port. But you will lose the second ethernet port and the internal m2 slot. But on the other hand you get a SATA connector on the outside.
The R58 is a bit smaller than the R58X.
But I do notice I get better performance with the WebGL Aquarium test with the R58 (almost 60fps with 5000 fishes), but I think that's because it has 8GB of memory and my R58X only has 4Gb of memory (almost 50 fps with 5000 fishes).

In the next video I will do some more test with the R58 with 8GB and use the R58X to do the recording.
