We went to UP Diliman to see the sunflowers and to have some pictures taken. Prior to this official engagement proposal, Ty had asked my father for my hand in marriage. We have also been talking about getting married a few months later after Ty got back from his first visit.
His dad came to the Philippines to do the “pamamanhikan” (It is a Filipino tradition where the groom’s family comes to the home of the bride to meet the family and to ask the bride’s parents’ permission to wed the affianced pair. It is to show respect and honor for the bride’s parents before getting married.)
We held an engagement party, that same week we got officially engaged and invited my relatives and a few friends. We were married in October that same year.
