NEW TRIAL OUT ON BICARB!
Of course, a few days after I publish this video, a new trial emerges concerning giving bicarbonate for metabolic acidosis. This trial suggests that bicarbonate does decrease mortality in patients with renal failure. So in short: don't make it an automatic response but definitely consider it (especially in patients with renal failure)!
