Chiari 2 Malformation || Ultrasound || Anomaly || Case 287

Clinical Features:
A young primigravida came with 7 months of amenorrhoea

Ultrasound Features:
25-26 weeks of single live intrauterine pregnancy with breech presentation & polyhydramnios
Chiari 2 malformation:
- Frontal bone concavity forming lemon-shaped head
- Banana-shaped cerebellum curving around the midbrain
- Cerebellar tonsillar caudal herniation with effaced cisterna magnum
- Ventriculomegaly
- Splayed lumbar vertebral ossification centers without overlying skin suggesting open lumbar spina bifida with meningomyelocele
Associated anomalies:
- Cardiomegaly
- Low-set deformed ears
- Clubfoot

Remember:
When you get an anomaly, try not to miss others.
