Seimei Shrine is located in Kamigyo ward, west of the Gosho , about a 10-minute walk after a 10-minute subway ride from Kyoto Station. This shrine enshrines Abe no Seimei, a well-known yin-yang master of 12th century, and is said to bring good luck in ward off evil spirits. There are lot of pentagrams, a spellbook used in the Yin-Yang philosophy, throughout the temple grounds. So it is one of the most popular power spots in Kyoto. A "Yakuyoketou" (peach to ward off evil spirits) is placed in front of the main shrine. It is said that stroking this peach will bring you good luck in warding off bad luck. This is because peaches are considered to be a fruit to ward off bad luck in Yin-Yang philosophy. There is a magnificent camphor tree Beside the main shrine. It is estimated that the tree is estimated to be 300 years old. You may feel spiritual power from the powerful big tree.
