Arrived from Amazon on the day of it's release on the 29th September is the Deluxe Edition Box Set of David Gilmour's Live In Pompeii.
You can find my full review of the box set here : [ Ссылка ]
The box set contains 4 Discs which are 2 CD's with the audio contents of the live concert and 2 Blu Rays containing the live footage of the concert and a Documentary on the 1st Disc. The 2nd Disc contains live footage from 2 other concerts shot at 2 different venues and 5 other Documentaries.
This all sounds very good and perhaps worthy of it's price point. But what's with the big idea a lot of artists are doing regarding the packaging of the contents these days. Especially when they are done on the cheap like this.
Have these artists got no pride in their own music they put out these days?. Are compact discs and blu ray discs really indestructible? that they can just stick them in cardboard sleeves without any proper protection.
I think not... and some artists certainly want to look at how very well other artists like Jethro Tull and Steve Hackett are packaging their products in luxury at less than half the price of this cheap shoddy job.
