This public library was the shooting location of the film of Wim Wenders "Himmel über Berlin" "Les ailes de desir" "Heaven over Berlin" shot before the fall of the wall in the 80's - with the Mathei Kirche / church and the wonderful Museum Gemäldegalerie near the Philharmonie at Potsdamer Place.
