Tony Stevens played bass on this popular song from the mid-70s. The title, Step Outside, seems to suit these time here in 2020, and it is a fun, not difficult song to play. During the verse, the eighth note pattern is short-long-short- long, and that is what my right hand is fingering. I saw Foghat perform live in Detroit in 1974 and it was a fantastic concert and an equal thrill to go and buy the 'Energized' LP from which this song is a part.

Bass in video is 2018 Rickenbacker 4003 with original pickups, Ric- factory strings, the tone switch is in the 'down' position to emphasize the modern Ric sound, and played through a small 60 watt Marshall amplifier with mid-range boosted to give a more solid sound, with no effects.
