PROTECT CHRISSY! This character makes us care after just a few scenes. What can we learn from how Stranger Things makes use of the 10 minutes of setup this character is granted before her murder scene? Chrissy takes us on a wild journey in these scenes. All is well at the pep rally with Jason professing his love, then we see Chrissy troubled leaving the guidance counselor's office, then we're thrust into her traumatic home life in the bathroom scene. But Eddie comes to the rescue! With drugs, yes, but more importantly with his assurances that Chrissy is not alone. How is all of this creating an emotional bond for the audience and what function does that bond serve when Vecna enters the scene?
