Here's a demo of some super8 cine film which was originally recorded in stereo sound using dual track film. The cine film has two separate tracks, which we record separately, enabling the client to isolate a single track, or turn both on for stereo sound.
Dual track audio was often used for recording live sound during filming, and the second track was often used for adding a music soundtrack or possibly narration.
The easiest way to capture the sound from this format is to record it as mixed stereo. However, at Alive Studios we put a bit more time in and capture it as two separate mono tracks.
