Julia Prochnik will share her insight from her work building new partnerships in the government, creating standards for the electric industry, and navigating new pathways for the environment.
Speaker Biography:
Bringing more than 15 years of experience in renewable energy permitting and contracts strategy, regional and state transmission planning, regulatory affairs, and negotiation services, Julia Prochnik enjoys working to solve the impossible. As the Natural Resources Defense Council's (NRDC) director of Western Renewable Grid Planning, she works on regional and interregional planning initiatives and advocates for incorporation of public policies and land use. Previously, Prochnik worked at Clean Line Energy Partners and the North American Electric Reliability Corporation. She was a Presidential Management Fellow at the U.S. Department of Energy and assisted with the 2003 blackout investigation. Prochnik has a bachelor's in political science and international relations from Oregon State University and a master's in policy implementation from the University of Southern California. She is based in San Francisco.
