One of my all-time favorite songs is Skip James’ “Hard Time Killin’ Floor.” It’s got a tasteful bassline, a killer haunting melody, and the feel of it is just so damn bluesy! I usually play it on electric 6-string, but the folks from Furch Guitars brought this 12-String over to me and I love with the way this arrangement sounds on it! Whenever I play blues on the 12-string I like to tune it down a whole step. This gives the strings a swampy, slinky vibe that sounds a lot more down-home and old-fashioned. It also helps with bending strings. This Furch 12-string has a very comfortable feel and really balanced tone to it all the way up the fretboard. The cutaway is also essential when you want to play lead licks above the 12th fret.
