If you are experiencing pain in your upper back, try these easy exercises to relax your muscles and also improve your overall range of motion and mobility.
To begin, stand with your back against a wall with your knees slightly bent. Tuck your chin by sliding the back of your head up the wall and flatten your lower back against the wall. Start with your elbows touching the wall and flexed to a 90 degree angle. Raise your arms, keeping contact with the wall attempting to have your forearms and wrists touch the wall. Hold this position as you feel the stretch in your upper back. You can repeat this exercise at different angles of shoulder flexion for a varied stretch.
